Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about our services, products, shipping, and fabrication capabilities.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Palm Beach County, Broward County, and Martin County, Florida. For major projects, we also work throughout South Florida and can ship products nationwide.
Do you carry FL contractor license?
Yes. Chris holds Florida Roofing Contractor License #CCC1337476 with over 25 years of experience in architectural sheet metal and roofing.
What is the difference between 16 oz and 20 oz copper?
The weight refers to how much one square foot of the copper sheet weighs. 16 oz (about 22 gauge) is standard for most residential gutters and flashing work. 20 oz is heavier and is used for demanding applications, wider spans, and commercial or luxury residential projects where greater durability and rigidity are required.
How do I get a custom fabrication quote?
Use our Custom Quote request form on this website, or call us directly at (561) 291-8891. Include your dimensions, material preference (copper, aluminum, zinc, galvanized steel, stainless), and a description of what you need. We fabricate everything in-house and typically provide quotes within one business day.
Do your products ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship standard products nationwide via UPS and freight. Larger orders (sheets, long gutter runs, heavy panels) typically ship via LTL freight. Contact us for a shipping quote on large orders.
Are your installations HVHZ compliant?
Absolutely. We specialize in High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) installations per the Florida Building Code. All our roofing and flashing work meets or exceeds Miami-Dade and Broward County requirements.
Can you match historic copper details for restoration projects?
Yes — historic restoration is one of our specialties. We fabricate custom conductor heads, gutters, flashings, and decorative elements to match existing historic profiles. We work closely with architects and historic preservation boards.
How long does copper take to develop its patina?
Newly installed copper starts as a bright penny-orange. Within 1–3 years in Florida's humid climate, it develops a brown tone. Full green patina (verdigris) typically takes 10–20 years depending on rainfall, humidity, and proximity to salt air. Many clients prefer the intermediate brown stage for its warmth.
What is your warranty on installation work?
We provide a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installation work. Material warranties are provided by the manufacturer (copper and premium metals have a natural lifetime material quality). We stand behind our work — if there is any issue related to our installation, we will return to address it.
Can contractors open a trade account?
Yes. Licensed roofing and sheet metal contractors can register for a contractor account and receive contractor pricing. Register on our website and check the 'I am a licensed contractor' option, or call us directly.
Do you sell just materials without installation?
Yes. Our online shop carries our full catalog of gutters, downspouts, flashings, chimney caps, sheet metal, roofing panels, and tools. All products ship nationwide. We also do will-call pickup by appointment.
What is the minimum order for custom fabrication?
There is no minimum order for custom work, but setup costs may apply to very small jobs. Typically a minimum charge of $75 applies to custom fabrication orders. Call or submit a quote request and we will be straightforward about all costs.
